Άιντε πες μου την αλήθεια Tes yeux dans les miens Πες όλα αυτά που χρειάζομαι Au fur et à mesure Και μπροστά σου είμαι σαν πηλός Tes deux mains sur mes hanches Να χαράζεις κόκκινες γραμμές Me jetterais-tu dans la mer? Vas-y dis-moi toute la vérité Αυτήν την τόσο θέλω J’ai besoin d’ton regard sur ma peau Πριν να σπάσω Y’a un incendie dans l’creux d’mon ventre Χίλια καμένα πεύκα Et c’est toi que j'retrouve dans le centre Ρίξε με στην θάλασσα Το φεγγάρι κρέμεται στον ορίζοντα Les vagues me caressent les côtes Mon corps est une épave Je me remplis d’eau salé Και μπροστά σου ήμουν σαν πηλός Μ’έριξες στην θάλασσα

about

"Keramos - Κέραμος" is an EP featuring three new tracks inspired by elements of Greek culture (Hellenistic pottery, envy manifested as the evil eye) that push the boundaries of Synesthema’s music in new directions.

"Keramos - Κέραμος" is the first vocal song written and performed by Synesthema and is sung in Greek and French. It features soft synths flowing back and forth like waves at a beach, varied bright percussions, and a slapping bass supporting soft and robotic vocals. Keramos refers to pottery, more specifically the tradition of classical Hellenistic pottery, and alludes to the body as a metaphor of a vessel that lets itself be sculpted and/or broken by others, and the destructive power of one’s envy.

"The Evil Eye" is the most energic track of the EP. It has a big, juicy bass and a middle eastern percussive style and melody, but large melodious synth chords ties it to Synesthema’s EDM and trance roots. The Evil Eye is a cultural symbol recognized in Greek culture as well as in many other Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and West Asian cultures: in the Greek culture, it refers to how looking at people with envy can curse them, and that one must always be conscious of how they perceive others, and to protect themselves from the envious gaze of the others or even their own selves.

And finally, "Chara - Χαρά" is a more classic take on dance music, with a touch of techno from the 00's and 10's. It features the vocalizations of Galiya (Gwendolyne Krasnicki), playing with the melodic line we heard in Keramos, ending the EP in a blissful, playful note. The track breaks down in the middle with various percussions and a buildup reminiscent of Deadmau5, before giving us an ending full of joy, liberation and wonder. Chara, in Greek, means happiness.
